Hello again my friends…

Some mad ramblings from a crazed creative…

You may note that I have a new logo variation pictured above. It was necessary for brand purposes, but it’s also a testament to the blessing of friendship. I’ve come to realize that all my success as a designer isn’t because I’ve done anything all that great, but rather that God has blessed me with some incredible friends, mentors, colleagues, and family.

I started to feel a bit down at the close of 2024. I’ve been designing for over 10 years now and boy… I have to say I thought I would be farther along. I sort of woke up and realized that I had allowed many things to slip in my work, my standards, my overall life - and it was a rude awakening.

Emerging from the initial melancholy at the start of 2025 I opened up to that incredible crowd of supporters I mentioned. I was overwhelmed by the support, encouragement and inspiration I received. An ensuing season of much needed surrender humbled me in the best way and has blessed me so profoundly.

”Ask and you shall receive.”

I am so thankful for the way God uses others to fill our needs. From the transparent conversations I described, I wound up coming away with:

  • several mentor figures

  • fantastic new clients

  • key business relationships

  • many prospective leads

  • a fresh outlook on business

  • renewed vigor to serve PEOPLE

  • deep appreciation for the journey I have been on

Like. Wow. That’s pretty crazy. I guess I just want to encourage the reader to reach out. Get plugged in with friendly humans around you. Serve them and don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. You certainly don’t have to be perfect!

“Faithful Branding for Friendly Humans”

My new slogan isn’t just some catchy phrase - though I hope it is indeed catchy. It reflects a deep cry of my heart. If business is about half of how we spend our time, then it ought to be done right. As a Jesus Follower, I firmly believe that ALL I do must be done in faith - for God’s glory. Essentially my commitments are the same, but just reinvigorated. Faithful to God and faithful to those He created. Care to join me?

On a separate note…

My merch line is growing steadily… albeit chaotically. One recent push has been a collab with my five-year-old daughter in something I call “K.I.” or “Kid Intelligence”. It’s been super cathartic, super imperfect, and totally fulfilling.

If you have kids and want a beautiful escape from the internet, do a project with them. I’m far from perfect, but the bonding and the investment in their lives is something I cherish so much.

Postscript: There’s a new track at the top of my list. Not that you care too much, but for my fellow creatives, this has been a solid melody to just zone out to… or rather zone in on some work to. Hope you like it.
